Louise Morris
Louise Morris Physiotherapist

Louise trained at Wolverhampton School of Physiotherapy in 1994 and in 2001 completed a Masters in Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. This was an intense and stimulating experience to go through and has changed her professional practice for the benefits of her patients. She has an extensive range of experience in treating knees, sports injuries, orthopaedics, whiplash along with neck and back pain. At Absolutephysio there is a friendly and welcoming feel when you visit us.

As a child Louise always knew she wanted to work in the field of medicine.  She used to love the smell and buzz of hospitals. Her first experience of physiotherapy was as a child when she broke her elbow. This reinforced her passion for working as a physiotherapist.

After qualifying in 1994 she went to The John Radcliff in Oxford. This is a large teaching hospital where Louise gained immense experience and it was there that ignited her enthusiasm in orthopaedics.

During her time in Oxford she also worked in various private sectors, worked with the Oxford Blues rugby team and has organised pre-race exercise regimes for the BT Global yacht race. Louise has been fortunate enough to be on the finishing line in a professional capacity at the London Marathon. Another area of interest and enjoyment she has is lecturing to Consultants, GP, and fellow medical colleagues on latest physiotherapy research related to musculoskeletal problems.

Louise’s enthusiasm for physiotherapy is still as strong as when she first started.  She juggles her time between working and bringing up a family and feels she has the best of both worlds.

Louise looks forward to meeting you, helping you on the road to recovery and giving you the tools to move better and feel better.

Richard Agnew
Richard AgnewAcupuncturist

Richard qualified as an acupuncturist in 2010 and since then has treated people with a wide range of problems, with a particular interest in treating pain and fertility issues.

Richard’s practice is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, which can offer a different way of looking at health issues that have not responded well to other kinds of treatment.

Richard’s first degree is in Psychology, with an interest in the nature of consciousness, the relationship between mind and body and why people behave as they do. Whilst studying, Richard found more practical answers in the medical and spiritual traditions of East Asia, and finds the literature from behavioural science on habit-formation and motivation informative for helping people make lifestyle changes to benefit their health.

Richard was inspired to become an acupuncturist while learning Qigong and martial arts in his early 20s. After training with various teachers since 2002 he was given permission to teach Qigong by his current teacher in 2015. This offers exercises, postural work, breathing and meditative techniques that can be really helpful alongside acupuncture treatment

David Daniels
David DanielsSports Massage Therapist

During careers in both the Army and Police Service spanning 33 years I have been involved in various sports including rugby, judo, squash, running and general fitness training.  Having returned back to running in late 2017 I completed the Brighton marathon in April 2018 and am presently preparing to undertake the 24 hour Cotswold Challenge.  Being a Sports Massage Therapist myself I understand the benefits of a massage and therefore during my preparation for both events I have received frequent sports massages in order to maintain good health and limit any injuries.

Sports massage treatments aim to stretch tight muscles, stimulate inactive muscles and improve soft tissue condition. It is a deeper massage that repairs muscle fibres and adhesions.  It also reduces postural problems and tensions, relieves aches and pains and is a vital element in the recovery from a variety of soft tissue injuries.  Sports massage enables you to move your body more freely and can improve posture.  It can also relieve pain, tension and anxiety.

This form of massage therapy is popular with sports people as it may enhance performance.  Sports massage promotes recovery and prevents overuse. This is achieved through increasing the blood and lymph circulation, ensuring the effective removal of waste products produced by the body due to physical activity and enhancing the supply of nutrients to the muscles.  Sports massage releases tight muscles that could cause a reduction in movement which could lead to muscular imbalances and postural problems causing aches pain and even further injury.   Sports massage may also prevent injury, promote healing, restore mobility and promote confidence.

Contrary to common belief you don’t need to be an athlete or even sporty to appreciate the benefits of sports massage.  Spending time at a desk or behind a driving wheel can cause muscular tension and over use, which can be freed effectively using sports massage.

I am also qualified in Myofascial cupping which is a modified version of the ancient Eastern style cupping.  A hand operated vacuum pump is used to induce a vacuum inside a cylinder sealed to the skin using a lotion.  The vacuum draws the soft tissue perpendicular to the skin this providing a tensile force to the soft tissue system. The process draws blood from your vessels and provides increased circulation to stretch muscle tissue.   Myofascial cupping will normally be provided in conjunction with a sports massage.

I am also a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists.

As a committed Sports Massage therapist my main aim is to help my clients resume their pursuit of health, fitness and well-being.  I will provide hands-on treatment and educate you, thereby enabling you to become an active participant in your recovery and future physical health.

Lisa Tolchard
Lisa TolchardCrystal/USUI Reiki/Hopi Ear Therapist

Lisa suffered with trigeminal neuralgia in 2010/2011 and after a year of strong medication she wanted to find a holistic path.

Lisa discovered Reiki and undertook her training and qualified as a USUI Reiki Therapist in 2012/2013.  Following her training in Reiki she started to feel the difference in her own health.

Lisa then had life changing surgery in 2013 and used crystals she had collected for years to get her through this difficult time not really knowing why they helped but just knowing that they did!

A good friend of Lisa mentioned to her that there is an area of holistic therapy using crystals.  This piqued Lisa’s interest and she found out more about crystal therapy.

In 2013/14 she trained and qualified as a crystal practitioner under the tuition of  Philip Permutt, a great friend of Lisa’s and world famous Crystal Master.  Since starting crystal therapy training Lisa is now medication free!

She has seen first hand the benefits of crystal healing and Reiki and looks forward to bringing these therapies and their benefits to her clients.

Recently Lisa trained as a Hopi ear therapist qualifying in 2015.

Lisa is a Member of The Guild of Holistic Therapists
