Bowen Technique

The aim of  Bowen Technique  is to reset the body to heal itself.  It is a gentle form of bodywork using subtle moves over key structural points in the body.  It is a truly holistic therapy which can target a specific problem or address the body as a whole.

Who can benefit from Bowen Therapy?

The original Bowen Technique is extremely gentle and is considered appropriate for anyone from pregnant women to newborn babies, the frail and the elderly.  It can assist the body to recovery from many conditions, from traumatic injury to chronic illness, depending upon the individual’s capacity to heal.

How does the treatment work?

A series of very gentle and precise Bowen moves are performed over the muscles and connective tissue.  These movements can send messages deep into the body, retrieving cellular memory of a relaxed, balanced way of well being and can initiate a cascade of beneficial changes that continue for several days.

Bowen Technique addresses the musculoskeletal framework, fascia, nerves and internal organs.  This can initiate the body’s integrated response to help improve circulation and lymphatic drainage and help aid the assimilation of nutrients and elimination of toxins.

There are frequent but essential pauses throughout the session that allow the body time to assimilate each move and begin the healing process.
